The State of the Union

Just when I thought that Obummer couldn’t possibly cheapen the office of President any more than he already has,
he takes a constitutionally mandated address to a joint session of Congress and uses it as a re-election campaign
speech.   On second thought, I guess I really shouldn’t be surprised.   After all, it’s the only thing he’s done the entire
time he’s been in office (except for golf and vacations, that is.)

Reuters reports that, in a campaign video sent to supporters, Obummer says that Tuesday’s State of the Union
address will be a partisan election-year call for a "return to American values" of economic fairness. "I'm going to lay
out a blueprint for an American economy that's built to last, and most importantly, a return to American values of
fairness for all, and responsibility from all."

The video goes on to assure supporters that he will (once again) put his laser-like focus on American manufacturing
"with more good jobs and more products stamped with Made in America, American energy, and skills for American
workers playing key roles.”

Obummer will offer tax breaks to reward companies that bring jobs home to the United States, while eliminating tax
benefits for those that outsource jobs overseas, and will stress, once again, his belief that wealthy Americans should
pay more in taxes.

He might as well say “I really, really, really mean it this time…”   It was about jobs before he took office and it’s been
about jobs every year since he spent billions on his inauguration party.

Where’s he been for the past three years in his quest to “build an economy”?   Whatever happened to the “recovery”
he told us we were in?   Unemployment is much higher than 8.5 percent and everyone knows it.   (Remember when it
was 5.6% and the Democrats said it was way too high?)

Spare us the “jobs created and saved” speech.   We should have been seeing months of 200,000+ job creation by
this time LAST YEAR!   The only reason the unemployment rate has dropped is because a couple of million people had
their unemployment benefits run out and simply stopped trying to find work, so they’re no longer being counted by
your Labor Department.

And am I the only one getting sick of hearing Obummer’s demands for ‘fairness’?   Sorry, but his definition of
“economic fairness” means the greater redistribution of wealth from the 50% of people actually paying taxes, to the
50% of people who pay none through the creation of more handouts and more entitlements.   In other words, more of
the same thing liberal Democrats have been doing for the last 80 years.

Why is it that those who get the “fairness” and those who get the “responsibility” are two totally different groups?
And what’s this bit about “American” energy?   Is that more “green” energy like Solyndra – the kind that doesn’t work
without massive taxpayer funding?   Is it a change of heart over the Keystone pipeline?   Is he FINALLY going to allow
drilling for our own oil instead of helping Brazil sell it to us?

Don’t bet on it.

Under Obummer, the U6 unemployment has gone from 9.1% to 16.9% in 3 years. The number of people on food
stamps has increased from 42 million to 49 million. Uninsured people have gone from 48 million to 56 million.  The
annual federal deficit has gone from $180 billion per year to $1.7 trillion per year.   And the national debt has nearly
doubled from $9 trillion to $16.8 trillion!   How’s THAT for the state of the union?

So, Obummer really has nothing to talk about.  He certainly can’t talk about his track record.

No, instead he’ll use the speech to repeat calls for higher taxes on the wealthy, and other good, old-fashioned tax-and-
spend liberal policies that hurt businesses and destroy jobs.   And I have no doubt that he won’t pass up the
opportunity to attack congressional Republicans for their “obstructionism”.

If you buy into anything the teleprompter-in-chief spouts off about Tuesday night, you’re either a complete Obamabot
or you’re totally insane.

A State of the Union address is just that – it’s not a campaign speech.   Obummer’s problem is that Americans
already know that the “state of the union” is a shambles.
